Could there be anything more amazing than the love of Christ? This week's i heart faces contest theme is Easter. I was going to blog a little something about Easter yesterday but I decided to just wait until I posted my picture for the week as I knew it would give me a great chance to express my feelings.
I have the distinct privilege of teaching in a Catholic school where I can share my faith with students on a daily basis. This past Lent we focused our hearts on the love of Jesus. As a class we talked about how we could prepare our hearts to be ready for Easter. We learned the Stations of the Cross, discussed the importance of Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday and delved deeper into the Easter story. We even had our own Last Supper as a class. (grape pop included) :) The students learned so much and I truly believe they have a great understanding of the depth of the love of our Lord. As their teacher I found it not only rewarding to see each child grow in his or her faith but it was also a chance for me to focus my heart. What an amazing act of sacrifice. Jesus gave us the gift of his life so that we might all live. We celebrate and sing Alleluia to our King!
Happy Easter and God Bless you all!
Head over to i heart faces and see more Easter pictures!

Oh that is just beautiful! While I was at Church yesterday I was trying to think how I could a pic of my son with the big cross we have there that was beautifully decorated but didnt really want to go out the front whilst people were still milling around lol and take a photo with my mobile, so I ended up with an Easter egg pic instead. Also love the song - one of our favourite bands!

I love this photo and the way the crosses are in focus :) the song is one of my favorites also . . . thanks for sharing!
Love it!
Wow. I didn't expect that. Got me a little choked up. That song always moves me though. But the words are somehow so powerful, have such impact, when seen in print like that coupled with those joyful innocent faces. Great photo.
Wow! Just amazing, I love this shot!!
What a lovely photo and sentiment! Thanks so much for sharing!
this is it. it doesn't get any better.
one of my favorites! This one has so much meaning! Thank you so much!
Thank you for refocusing me fromthe colorful eggs and brilliant flowers. The simple B&W conversion does place the emphasis right where it should be all along. Lovely and meaningful.
I love this photo! It's is so lovely to see the Truth of Easter in a photo - resurrection joy shining out in the faces of two little girls. Stunning composition. It makes a great change from eggs and bunnies (cute as they may be).
I love that you posted a reminder that Easter is more than just bunnies and candy. Your girls are beautiful!
This is a really neat picture and captures what Easter is really all about. I didn't realize you taught at a Catholic school. Guess I just figured you were teaching at one of the elementaries in Medina County. I'm so jealous that you get to share your faith on a daily basis. Public school kind of squelches that for me. :)
What a stunning picture.
so beautiful. nice job
Great shot! TFS
Wonderfully appropriate :). I love the DOF and your b/w conversion. Lovely work.
This is so beautiful. I love it. Love that song and it fits the picture just so wonderfully.

To answer your question re: what actions I ran on my image this week:
I ran Totally Rad Action "Old Skool" at 40% opacity (though I removed the extra noise layer that this action has) plus the usual image "fixes". Glad you like it.
Yes that is what Easter is all about. Great photo.
Great picture. I have a picture of a teenager with the three crosses for Easter and I love all the meaning behind it. Love the shot - it's wonderful.
I love your entry this week! So beautiful and even more beautiful because of the cross :-) What could be more beautiful than that?! Love it!
Love the single focus in this picture! You are following my favorite photogs. :D
love it - love the focus... that's what it's all about.
do you have instructions for the crosses you made?
I love this song so much Mel - we sing it at church all the time and it moves me every time. What a beautiful depiction of the true meaning of Easter!
Happy belated Easter to you, too, Melissa! :)
My Nicky and I got married this Saturday, the day before Easter, so it was a particularly meaningful occasion. :)
